Zoran Tosic: Age is just a number

Partizan finally ended winless streak after defeating Cukaricki 3-2 on Wednesday. Zoran Tosic bagged a brace to cancel Cukaricki two-one lead. We spoke to 31-year-old midfielder after the game:

-I think we entered the game with more focus and desire compared to some recent matches and scored an opener early enough but Cukaricki shocked us a bit with their equalizer and we were unable to reply to it before the half-time whistle. After the break we kept calm even when they took the lead and believed we can win. We got rewarded at the end, said Tosic.

You bagged a brace and had even more opportunities yourself to score.

-I scored an equalizer with a fine free-kick shot. It was a bit of a deflection though but I knew it was going in as it was well directed. I scored a winner after a trademark Ilic move and Ivanovic`s shot. I was focused all the way and scored on the rebound.

You are soon to turn 32, Sasa Ilic is 41 years old and your experience and winning desire proved crucial tonight.

-I`m so happy after this brace, I needed these goals so much. I had unfortunate period behind me, injury, lack of continuity and fine performances but I hope this will be a turning point both for me and for the team. Sasa Ilic is phenomenal player. It`s incredible that 41-year-old means so much for the team, that`s so precious. Lately, experienced players didn`t play so much but we proved we still have some tricks left in the bag. As they say – age is just a number.
