Dnipro midfielder, 20-year-old Yuriy Vakulko signed a 4-deal with the club and joined his new teammates on a flight to Limassol for a two-week winter preps camp.
Yuriy Vakulko was born in Odessa and he started playing footie ten years ago. His professional career kicked-off in Dnipro (2014-2017) and he is a skipper of Ukraine U-21 side for whom he made 13 apps and scored two goals.
He will be wearing jersey number 14.
Sports Director Ivica Iliev on latest signing:
− Trust me, this is a big transfer. Yuriy is going to play for senior Ukraine national team soon, he is a very promising player. As soon as Yuriy started training with us, Partizan players kept me if and when we are going to sign him. That says enough about his quality. I believe Partizan will be a step forward in his career.
Yuriy Vakulko upon signing:
− When I learned about Partizan offer I didn`t think for a minute. Partizan is world renowed club and it`s an honour for me to kick-off my true professional career over here. I hope I will help Partizan win at least one trophy and to get as far as possible in Europa League. I watched Partizan when they played Dynamo Kyiv and it was an even tie, only that Dynamo had a bit more luck.
You picked Partizan although you had other offers?
− I really respect Partizan. I didn`t think about money as it`s history of the club that is important as well as player`s progress. I`m really honoured to be here as this is a club with great history. As I said, I didn`t think a minute about coming here.
Boss Miroslav Djukic on Vakulko:
− Yuriy is real quality and we have big expectations of him. He can play several positions. I believe he picked up a right club as he is going to advance here and, hopefully, turn into a top player.
