Another Partizan academy graduate is back home! Centre-back Svetozar Markovic signed a 4-year-deal with the club and will be available for Partizan friendly against Fenerbahce. He played for Partizan 2017-2019 before moving to Greece and returned on a one-year loan deal back in 2020.
We spoke to 22-year-old defender upon his arrival.
Third time lucky for you, Svetozar! You played two seasons with the club after graduating from Partizan youths and also had a loan spell with the club while with Olympiacos. Now, you are back in your home club on a four-year deal.
“I`m thrilled to be back home in Partizan. I cannot wait to start playing for my club, to do my best to help club achieve its targets for the next season”, said Markovic.
How much did you follow Partizan results while away?
“I did follow everything, both domestic and European games. We were so close to win the title but we lost the race in the end. I felt sad for everyone at the club, players especially, but I hope for more luck this season”.
New team, new coaching staff and new demands this season.
“Sehovic is back as well, we played here three years ago. He left for Israel some time after I departed for Greece but we are both back home now and I hope we`ll have a great time here. Game system is changed now and I worked with boss Stolica in Serbian youth teams so I know him for a long time”.
Partizan fans were quite happy with you during your two spells at Partizan. What can we expect from you this time around?
“I don`t want to talk about the future or make promises. All I can say is I`ll do my best and everything you need to know about me will happen down on the pitch”.
