Football world will remember Antic as the only coach in the history of Spanish game who sat by the dugout for Real Madrid, Atletico Madrid and Barcelona, Serbian football fans as one of their favourite and most successful national team coaches while we here at Partizan know him as unique persona with everlasting smile on his face.
As a boy, he dreamt of playing for Partizan and he lived through his dream for eight years, wining one championship title with the club. He then moved abroad and played for Fenerbahce, Zaragoza and Luton Town, to end his career as a true legend of this English club. Antic returned to Partizan as coaching assistant to Nenad Bjekovic and Fahrudin Jusufi to win two Yugoslav titles with the club.
Antic was always devoted fan of Partizan and felt it was inseparable part of his life although he chose to live in Spain mostly. But, whenever he would visit Serbia, his plans would include visit of Partizan, either by arriving to the club offices or visiting Partizan pre-season preps at Tara mountain, close to his hometown of Uzice where local football ground in named in his honour.
Many Partizan and other clubs coaches advanced in their trade using Antic`s drafts and useful advices. He was always there for everyone and became the first Mister of Serbian football.
He had enormous energy, invaluable skills and indefinable love for Partizan.
Together, we shared good and bad for decades; we were always there for each other, sharing those great and not so great moments and it all disappeared three years ago to this date. We were just informed Radomir Antic is not with us anymore and that`s something we will never resign to as Antara will always be part of the Black-and-White family.
