Pre-season in Slovenia: Aleksandar Stanojevic ahead of Mura friendly

Partizan is playing first friendly of Slovenia preps on Saturday but boss Aleksandar Stanojevic insists on fierce training sessions and good preparation ahead on new season and Conference League qualifiers. Slovenians Mura will be the first to test Partizan during Ptuj preps.

“We are getting ready for Mura friendly, unfortunately our squad in not full yet. We don`t know how fit and ready are players who had extended break, not to mention those who are yet to arrive. We pick up the pace, work hard and I`ll say something I never said before – I don`t care about final scores in a friendlies during pre-season. We want to do good pre-season to get ready for the season`s kick-off”, said Aleksandar Stanojevic.

Partizan boss talked about Saturday`s opponents as well.

“We are playing against champions of Slovenia and they already played a couple of friendlies. I`m sure they are extremely ambitious as a club. We will play on their ground in front of their fans. I regret we are not going to play them in a 6 or 7 days but we want to test ourselves, to see where we stand at the moment. Mura has raised the bar and we`ll see how it`s going to look like. I cannot wait for a game with spectators involved”.

Afternoon training at Kidricevo training pitches consisted of four part: in the first one players did 2 on 2 zonal defence followed by 3 against 2 and 5 against 3 handicap defending and finally a game of football over the full length of the pitch.
