Partizan keeper Aleksandar Popovic signed for Dunajska Streda recently. He sent a farewell message to the fans and the club.
“First of all, I`d like to thank everyone starting from Sale Tomic, fitness coach who had a huge influence on my development upon my move to Partizan senior team, followed by all the Partizan youth coaches who I thank for all the dedication and advice I got from them. Of course, I`d like to thank all goalkeeper`s coaches, starting from Nemanja Jovsic with whom I worked the most. Thanks to all the people who work at Partizan Sports Centre, those who took care of me and my teammates, people who maintain the pitches, receptionists, all the women who cleaned our rooms and made sure sports centre is tidy. Thanks to the kitmen Rade and Dare, our physios and doctors, of course Bilja Obradovic, Sljuka and Vucina, who did their best to meet our demands.
Finally, thanks to all Partizan fans on their support and criticism too. These are not the best times for our club but they were there go through it all with us and I want to thank them immensely once more.
I arrived at the club when I was 15 and I achieved my childhood dream to play for the club I love. Unfortunately, it`s time for me to move. I think this is the right time to do so, for me and for the club, before we meet again!
I will do my best to move forward, gain new experience and, when the time comes, to return to Partizan and achieve what I failed to do first time around.
Until then, I want my teammates to stay healthy and to have some sporting luck, to push forward to the title this season”!
