Partizan U-19`s win Friendship Cup

Partizan youths won Soccerbet Friendship Cup by beating Croat peers Osijek 3-2 in the tournament`s final. This is the first time Partizan U-19`s have won this tournament, attended by following teams this year – Pandev Academy, Borac Banjaluka, Maribor, Osijek, Sarajevo, Sloboda Tuzla, Sibenik, Sutjeska, Zeljeznicar, Vojvodina and Crvena Zvezda.

Former Partizan player and coach Savo Milosevic is one of the tournament`s founder and his idea was to assemble youth teams from ex-Yugoslavia. Now played at Zlatibor, Friendship Cup was initially taking place in Milosevic`s hometown of Bijeljina.

“It`s this moment that matters. We achieved our objective, to win yet another trophy. We now move forward towards new targets, results and wins”, said Partizan U-19 coach Nenad Stojakovic.

“It`s no wonder Partizan youth school is one of the best in Europe, it`s the facts that speak for themselves. I was often there to criticize it, and I always will, as I want only the best for Partizan! This school has something special about it as it produces huge number of youngsters who go on to play in best European leagues”, said Savo Milosevic.

Partizan youngster Dusan Jovanovic picked up Best Player and Top Goalscorer of the tournament awards. He scored a total of five goals, brace in the final included.

“I`m thrilled to win these two awards but that would not be possible without the team effort! We won it as we played good football game and I was just an individual to come out of it”, said Jovanovic.
