If someone knows all about Partizan, then it must be Sladjan Scepovic – former Partizan forward now scout at his home club. He was also coach at Partizan youths while both of his sons, Marko and Stefan, played for the club graduating from Partizan Youth School. It`s Partizan all over for Scepovic and his appearance at latest Partizan Podcast started with a message for club supporters.
“If fans are behind the club and they are all there united to help the club – those are true supporters. The easiest route is to criticize, we can all see when something is wrong but let`s try to push players forward to overcome this poor spell and qualify for European competition”, said Scepovic.
Former striker remembered legendary commentator sentence – Well done Partizan the Lionheart – when our club eliminated Celtic from Cup Winners Cup in a legendary 9-goal thriller in Glasgow with a goal worth the next round scored by Scepovic himself.
” Ball was flying towards me and I noticed goalie and another player were on the goalline. I just wanted it to head it as hard as possible and, luckily, it ended at the back of the net even though keeper got a hand to it”.
Scepovic also revealed what kind of advices he was giving to his sons while they played for Partizan
“I was always reminding them how the pressure is constant here and how you need to battle your way through into the team. Simply, you can do it or you can`t, you know your trade or you don`t! Football gives you a lot but it takes away lots of things from you as well. Fans are always right but they can be too harsh on Partizan kids. Those kids truly love the club and Partizan existence is based on young talent so they should be supported”, said Scepovic.
