During winter preps in Turkey several players picked up injuries and, at the time, extent and timeline of those injuries was yet to be determined.
Goalkeeper Stevanovic picked up shoulder injury and it`s revealed upon return to Belgrade he now needs a surgery. At the same time, we feared for young forward Stulic who missed couple of friendlies towards the end of the Belek winter preps.
“Honestly, I got scared after that knock as I paused for a year after cruciate ligaments surgery. Obviously, I didn`t want anything similar to happen and keep me sidelined again. The next day, I noticed there`s no reaction and I felt relieved. I was also encouraged by our medical team who told me not to worry and they were right” – said Nikola Stulic.
How did you spend you days in Belek while injured?
“I was in the ambulance and on therapy all day long (laughs). I did gym and injured leg exercise also”.
You had full support from boss Stanojevic?
“Boss was there for me and it meant a lot. He told me to be patient, that injuries happen. He told me to be positive, to keep working hard and everything will turn out fine”.
Straight upon return to Belgrade, you did more medical checks?
“X-ray showed haematoma on my knee but no damage to ligaments or meniscus. I still do my therapies, there`s less pain and, as a result, I almost feel nothing now. I did individual practice for two days and I should join my teammates tomorrow or the day after tomorrow. I feel pretty good”.
