Legendary British violinist Nigel Kennedy held spectacular From Bach to Gershwin concert at the opening of 50th edition of Belgrade`s BEMUS festival.
Huge fan of Aston Villa and supporter of Polish Cracovia, Kennedy stated during his stay in Belgrade he supports Partizan too. Last night, after several encores and standing ovation, Kennedy received Partizan shirt with his name in Cyrilic letters and number 22 printed at the back.
After his career several decades long, millions of records sold and prestigious awards won, Nigel Kennedy is regarded one of the leading world`s maestros. He performed classics and Hendrix, shared stage with Paul Mccartney or Robert Plant, entertained British Royal Family and played around the world with leading world`s orchestras.
Kennedy`s love for music and jazz in particular led to timeless covers like Summertime, They Can`t Take That Away From Me, Porgy and Bess to name but a few, all released on Kennedy Meets Gershwin LP in celebration of 120th anniversary of Gershwin`s birth.
