Sinisa Sanicanin, first Partizan summer transfer window signing, did his first training session with the club.
“This is my first day here and I`m feeling incredible. I was greeted in a great fashion by everyone. Partizan sports centre is phenomenal, conditions are incredible and my first impressions are truly positive. I met with the team, coaching staff, club employees…I`m really over the moon now”, said 26-year old centre-back.
Sanicanin knows most of the Partizan team from Serbian Super Liga showdowns while he played with loan returnee Bojan Matic in Vojvodina.
“I know Matic from Vojvodina days as well as Ostojic from my previous meetings against Partizan and I spoke to them two regarding early topics. I know other boys from the games I played against them too and they all left positive impressions on me”.
Due to contract signing, new Partizan defender missed recent Bosnia and Hercegovina friendly against Montenegro but he was there for his national team for a friendly against Denmark.
“I missed Montenegro game as I was in Belgrade to sign my Partizan contract but I played full game against Denmark. After the international duty, I spent some time home with my family and my wife so I had enough rest, enough time to look forward to new challenges”, said Sanicanin.
He watched early European Championships games at home and he finds this year`s competiton quite interesting. He also informed us of reactions in his hometown of Prijedor upon Partizan signature.
“The news struck my hometown and everyone is delighted with my move. I received a lot of messages and congrats, I`m really speechless”.
Partizan youth school will stage a youth camp this summer in Laktasi, not far from Sanicanin`s hometown and 26-year old newcomer sent the message to talented youngsters, turning back to his early playing days.
“When I played for Borac Banja Luka we trained at Laktasi ground where Partizan is organizing a youth summer camp. At some point, we were there when these summer camps were staged. My advice to kids is to come around, play as much as they can, enjoy the game. It`s all about love for football, sport in general and Partizan, everything else will come around with time. What matters is that they love what they do, to push hard and enjoy the game, at the end of the day”
Finally, Sanicanin needs to get his training plan and schedule.
“I`m not fully informed what we are going to do yet. I think I`ll do a bit of early training tomorrow and fully join my teammates in the afternoon. I`m yet to have a chat with my new boss and teammates about future plans”, said Sinisa Sanicanin.
