Nemanja Nikolic first summer signing

Partizan signed  25-year-old forward  Nemanja Nikolic from Spartak Subotica today.

Nikolic signed a three-year deal. Last season, he scored 13 goals and made three assists at Spartak and helped his club reach EL qualifiers spot. Nikolic was also selected in the Best XI of Serbian Super League for the 2017/18 season. He will join his former Spartak teammate Djordje Ivanovic in Partizan attack.

Nemanja Nikolic upon signing:

– I made a big step forward in my career and I`m so happy to join such a big club. I hope I`ll prove myself to Partizan people who insisted on me coming here six months ago. I want to adapt to work and my new teammates as soon as possible – it will help me feel much better and it will influence my performances too. I love playing in the attack but I can also play behind the attackers, as I did when I played for Spartak with Ivanovic.

Big club means a lot a pressure is around but I hope I will handle it all with the help of my former teammate Ivanovic as well as with help of other players who helped him overcome that psychological barrier too. I hope I`ll blend in as quick as possible.

Sports Director Ivica Iliev:

– As soon as season is finished we are on the attack and we started with what we need the most – finishing qualities. Nikolic can bring lots of goals to Partizan. I wanted to sign him during winter transfer window but we finalized the deal now. He had a top season and I believe NIkolic is what we need.

Before summer preps kick-off, I believe we will sign several more players. As for the departures, I`m not sure it will happen so soon as WC is about to start so I think everything will unfold afterwards.
