New Partizan boss spoke to journalists about upcoming CL qualifiers and more.

– No smiles around, these are all serious opponents. Buducnost is tough rival but we are Partizan and we`ll do everything to get through to the next round. It will be hard – we played Montenegrins Zeta the other day and it wasn`t easy. Buducnost will be motivated and we need to be in the right frame of mind. It`s good that Podgorica is close enough and we will have massive support there. I like that. Teams from the region are competitive enough and we will not underestimate anyone.

It will be important not to concede at home and to have firmness to win it. We will play the same away and we just have to go through.

This Partizan team is good, as I expected. Lots of youngsters and lots of quality. We have to work more on certain things but that`s normal. Flair is not important, we need to be competitive. We need to be practical. Of course, we`ll try to play nice football.

We signed young Pantic on loan from Chelsea and we expect a lot from him. He is quality and he can help us. We try to get the best for Partizan and I`m satisfied with sporting parcel – we work without tension and pressure.

Leonardo and Djurdjevic will join us soon and they are players who make the difference. Together, they scored almost 50 goals last season and that`s some amount. We are so happy they are with us.

At the back, we`ll try to sign quality player but Ostojic and Cirkovic are two firm centre-backs who make us feel safe. Of course, we want to improve and make more competition at the back.

I`m also happy with Partizan youths who train with us. Every day they try to convince they are ready for the starting line-up and some of them are getting noticed. They have to be patient though, future is there for the taking.

John Toshack said once “you lost the game and you decide to change 10 starters. On Monday, it`s eight, on Tuesday six, on Friday its two and next Sunday you have the same line-up as previous weekend”. Pitch is what matters. In football game, there`s no past, just present and future. This is all nice – we won double, medals are there, but that means nothing now. Partizan strives for more trophies. We were the best around last season because we had firmness and individuals who stood out. We have to keep that style.

I`m here to help with my experience but players are out there on the main stage, they are the manufacturers. I`m sort of big coach in Partizan as I work in a big club with excellent players. Zidane is big in Madrid, but we would not be so important if we worked in so-called smaller clubs.
