Partizan signed a three-year deal with 29-year old centre-back Milan Mitrovic today.
Prokuplje-born Mitrovic started his career at Zemun followed by two-year spell at Rad and 2013 move abroad to Turkish side Mersin where he made 142 apps and scored 12 goals over the last four years. As his contract with Mersin expired, Mitrovic signed for Partizan as a free agent.
Milan Mitrovic upon signing:
– I signed for big club with high ambitions and I hope I`ll prove Partizan did good job signing me.
It will be an honour working with Djukic who was a great player, now a great coach. I believe I`ll learn a lot from him.
Last season ended in May and I fully trained since then. I might need a week to blend into team. It`s good we have international break now.
I should have accepted Partizan offer before. Now, I spoke to my family and decided to come back to Serbia. Turkish league stronger and tougher to play in but I never had opportunity there to play for such a big club as Partizan is. Partly, that`s the reason I accepted Partizan offer now.
