Predrag Mijatovic, famous Partizan, Real Madrid and Yugoslav international of the late 80s and 90s, visited FK Partizan premises today and had a pleasant chat with FK Partizan executives.
Former Real Madrid Sports Director was greeted by FK Partizan President Milorad Vucelic, General Director Milos Vazura and Sports Director Ivica Iliev who presented Mijatovic with FK Partizan jersey number 8, the number he wore when he play for the club in a period between 1989 and 1993.
Besides Partizan and Real Madrid, Mijatovic played for Buducnost Podgorica, Valencia, Fiorentina and Levante. Upon hanging his boots, Mijatovic took up a sporting director post at Real Madrid, a club for whom he scored a winning goal in a 1998 CL final 1-0 win against Juventus.
– It`s my honour and pleasure to come here and meet with Partizan people. All of us former Partizan players who love the club and who live abroad should do this – visit our club often, said Mijatovic upon his visit.
Everyone who has an opportunity to work in a big club is aware that results are all that matters and it`s hard being on such level of pressure constantly. You have to learn to live with this everyday pressure. Those who cannot keep up shouldn`t be around, players or coaches regardless. Partizan strives on trophies and that`s normal when you are a club like Partizan or Real Madrid. Whenever I can and whenever I`m asked to, I`m ready to help to people and club I love. You can always count on me.
FK Partizan Sports Director Ivica Iliev on Mijatovic`s visit:
– This is emotional moment for me as Mijatovic is the best Partizan player ever. He had a great career on and off the pitch, biggest football achievement out of people from the region. He is kind of a mentor to me, I had number of lovely chats with him when I played in Bilbao and he taught me how the things should be done. Whenever I`m unsure about something, I ask for Pedja`s advice.
