Saturday, 27th of May, was a day to remember for Partizan U-19 team captain Mateja Stjepanovic – him and his teammates were presented with championship trophy followed by a game at Partizan ground, their final league game of the U-19 season.
As a U-19 captain, Stjepanovic was also in charge of presenting Ricardo Gomes with Partizan Player of the Season award followed by his senior Partizan debut as a second half sub.
”I would like to thank boss Duljaj on this opportunity. It`s an incredible feeling making a debut for Partizan, at home, with Partizan fans around. This is my childhood dream come true but this is just the beginning, I`m not satisfied with what I`ve done so far. It`s on me to work even more and show why I`m here. Of course, all this is a motivation for me to be better and achieve more”, said Stjepanovic.
19-year-old presented Ricardo with an award.
”It was a great honour. We know how much Ricardo did for the club, how much he loves Partizan and Serbia and that`s an injective for us to keep going forward even when it`s tough. Ricky is a role model to all of us and he is like a father to us, very friendly and full of empathy”.
Partizan U-19`s won won the title after a 13-year drought and will make their debut in UEFA Youth League next season.
“I won everything I could with Partizan so far, all youth age groups. Now it`s time for a double with seniors. That`s my next target and I`m going to achieve it! I had positive shivers before entering the field but I couldn`t wait to come in! I`m pleased with my second half performance, cannot wait to see what`s in store for me. The sun will shine above Humska Road once again”, said Stjepanovic.
