Centre-back Marc Valiente played his first official game for Partizan last week. Once a graduate from famous Barcelona La Masia youth academy spoke to our website about his early days in Partizan and Belgrade:
– Most importantly, I had a best possible debut for Partizan as we won our opening European game. Final score suggests we had it easy but Rudar truly challenged us. This 3-0 win means a lot to us as we can now play home leg in a more relaxed fashion. But, I`m sure we`ll show our fans how hard we worked during summer preps, says Valiente.
You already visited some Belgrade sites during your time-off. You took a photo at Kalemegdan fortress.
– I really liked that Kalemegdan spot where you can see merging point of two rivers, Statue of the Victor and everything I heard about that historic site. Citizens of Belgrade are friendly, jolly and I truly enjoyed in everything I`ve seen so far.
Is your family moving to Belgrade too?
– My family is here now for a visit and they`ll be back here end of August as we have a congested fixtures now, lots of games and travelling involved. We made such decision as my wife is pregnant and expected to give birth in November. We have a five-year-old son as well.
Boss Djukic wanted you to play so early in the season to adapt you to the team system as soon as possible. How do you feel now?
– Much better compared to early pre-season days in Slovenia camp when it was really strenuous. Now I`m here, in full training process, and ready to play to the top of my abilities.
