During his first and short visit of Belgrade, Latvian football legend Marians Pahars visited FK Partizan as well.
During the meeting with FK Partizan Sports Director Ivica Iliev, Pahars learned about our club and our youth school and he showed particular interest for our club`s scouting system and players development. Pahars and Iliev also remembered when Iliev scored his first goal for Wisla Krakow during his playing days spell at Poland, a goal he scored against Skonto Riga when Pahars was in charge of this Latvian club.
Marians Pahars played as a forward in Latvia before making a move to English Premier League side Southampton in 1999 as a first Latvian player to do so. He spent seven successful seasons at the south coast of England club. After hanging his boots, Marians Pahars as head coach has worked in Skonto FC, Latvian U-21 team and Latvian national team.
