Keeper Jovanovic signs for Partizan!

Third Partizan summer signing is Aleksandar Jovanovic, Serbian goalkeeper who arrives from Apollon Limassol.

Jovanovic started his career back in 2009 at Rad, followed by spells at Palilulac, Palic, Donji Srem and Radnicki Nis.

He moved to Denmark in summer 2016 and signed 4-year deal with Aarhus.

Jovanovic also played for Deportivo La Coruna and finally, Apollon Limassol.

30-old shotstopper made his Serbia national debut in a friendly against Ukraine, played in Kharkiv in November 2016.

Jovanovic spoke to Partizan webste upon signing:

-Partizan showed interest back in December but my club Apollon didn`t want to negotiate it. I took this decision in professional manner and continued to fullfil all my duties. Partizan Sporting Director Ivica Kralj was very persistent to sign me and he is pivotal in my arrival here. Finally, it all turned out the way it should and I`m happy to be here.

I met with the people from the club and visited Partizan ground. This is really big club, with serious history and I`m so glad to be here. I arrived to help Partizan get back to the top and to make fans happy. I`m back in Serbia after seven or eight years playing abroad, more matured and more experienced for that matter. I believe this was the right moment for me to sign for the club and I`ll do my best to bring back Partizan to past glories.

Jovanovic on Eternal derby:

„It`s the biggest game in Serbia but I think any game should be approached with full focus. I`m very ambitious and I`ll do my best to help Partizan. Moreover, I believe goalkeepers are key to the the most parts of the game. I did that in Cyprus, Spain and Serbia before.

He is aware of pressure surrouding Partizan.

-Pressure is a normal thing and I`m entering this situation fully aware of it, but it`s only additional motivation for me. I came here as I knew what to expect and I believe I`ll be up for the challenge and I try to prove it in the future. I`m sure we`ll all try to have a good season and many good moments, to make fans happy and to get them back on the stands in great numbers.

Partizan moves to Slovenia for a pre-season camp on Friday and Jovanovic will also join his new teammates.

„Pre-season in Slovenia kicks-off soon. I cannot wait to start training and to get to know my teammates better. Some of them i know already and i think it won`t be hard for me to adapt. I`m friends with Pavlovic, Stevanovic and Antic.
