Partizan achieved 12th consecutive win on Sunday and marked Aleksandar Stanojevic`s 100th coaching appearance for the club. Moreover, defender Igor Vujacic scored his first ever goal for Partizan.
We spoke to this 26-year old after the game.
“I`m so happy to finally score. I had my share of opportunities in the past and I finally scored on my 13th appearance. I worked hard and I hope I`ll score more goals in Partizan shirt. I`m really over the moon now” – said Vujacic.
This is 12th consecutive Partizan win in all competitions.
“These stats make us even more obligated to do well. We are not after record books but we fight and want to win all the games we play. I listened about great energy of the Partizan team that won the double few years ago and they also had a great winning streak. It`s an incentive to all of us. We need to have belief and mind our own business, game after game”
You work well at the back with Svetozar Markovic.
“Above all, Markovic is a person of great quality and top-notch player too! We have a good connection at the back and talk a lot during the game. He`s hard worker and professional and I`d like to see him remain at the club for as long as possible”.
Boss Stanojevic has faith in you.
“Honest and hard work paid off. You get what you deserve with Stanojevic. I played League of Nations with Montenegro but at the same time I was benched at Partizan. Stanojevic noticed my national team performances but other defenders were in a good form back then. Now, I got my opportunity and I try to show I deserve every minute of it”.
What are your expectations regarding Montenegro national team?
“We are in a tough group and it`s hard to comment on it so early. It` important we are all healthy, ready and in a full swing when the call-up comes”.
Partizan is away to Indjija on Friday.
“We`ll enjoy a bit today and turn our thoughts to Indjija game on Tuesday. This goal I scored is for my family, my girlfriend and my teammates”.
