Partizan won Napredak 1-0 away in a first league after the winter break. Windy and snowy conditions didn`t help the proceedings and the only goal of the game played on an almost frozen pitch surface was scored by Fousseni Diabate just after the hour mark. We spoke to 27-year-old winger after the game.
“It was almost impossible to play it today, I never seen such playing conditions. It was way too cold; I was actually rubbing my hands even though I had the glove on. Me and my teammates felt like we were in a war, not on a football field”, said Diabate.
You have a new goal celebration?
“I really couldn`t lay down as it was too cold. This celebration goes to say – hey people, it`s too cold, can you turn the heating on?”.
This was your first domestic league goal for Partizan. How do you feel and how would you describe your form after the winter preps?
“Honestly, winter training camp was phenomenal. We had a great and intensive work both in Belgrade and in Turkey. I feel this is going to be my best season ever, I`m thrilled and ready to do my best”, said Diabate.
Partizan hosts Mladost GAT next Saturday for a Mozzart Bet SSL round 21 fixture.
