Partizan will open inaugural season of Conference League group stage away to Anorthosis, last season`s Cypriot cup winners.
So far, Anorthosis won 13 Cyprus championship title – last one back in 2008 – and 11 domestic cup trophies.
They are coached by former football legend of Georgia Temur Ketsbaia, while their squad consists of players from Brazil, Slovenia, Armenia, Georgia, Bosnia and Hercegovina, Finland, Czech Republic, Greece, Israel, Northern Ireland and Serbia. Their sole Serbian player is Milos Deletic, former Vojvodina, Napredak and Radnik Surdulica player, now on loan at Anorthosis from AEK Athens.
The most resounding name in Anorthosis squad is Kyle Lafferty, 33-year-old Northern Irish international made 81 apps for his national team and played for Glasgow Rangers, Palermo and Sunderland among others in his lucrative career.
Defensive midfielder Kostakis Artymatas is the most expensive Anorthosis asset while other leading squad players are Czech Republic`s Josef Husbauer, Greeks Nikos Kaltsas and Spyros Risvanis, Slovenian Denis Popovic and Bosnian Azer Busuladzic.
Anorthosis finished last domestic season fourth-placed and Cypriot team is still to play their first league game this season as their opening game was postponed due to European commitments. They were eliminated from Europa League qualifiers by Rapid Wien (2-4 agg) but won Hapoel Be`er Sheva (3-1 agg) in a Conference League play-offs to qualify for the group stage of the newest UEFA competition.
They play their home games at Larnaca`s Antonis Papadopoulos Stadium of 10, 230 capacity.
Partizan will play Anorthosis away on 16th of September.
