Young forward Samed Bazdar and new signing Aleksandar Filipovic joined their teammates in Slovenia today.
Newcomer Filipovic picked shirt number 26. We spoke to this versatile defender upon his arrival to Partizan pre-season camp.
“When I worked with boss Stolica before and while in Bate Borisov, I was needed on the left-back position mostly and that`s where I feel most comfortable. This is a great opportunity for me and I will work with coach I shared lovely moments with while in Vozdovac. I consulted my wife and after five years abroad we felt homesick and It`s great it turned out like this”, said Filipovic.
27-year-old was part of Vozdovac squad in 2017, a team that won Crvena Zvezda late in the season to open up path to the title for Partizan.
“I`m really glad it turned out like that. I`m a player who`s after trophies and I know I`m now in a club aiming for it. I`ll do my best in each game to get there. I was part of Belorussian derby but it`s not the same pressure-wise but I get the idea how it is when you play for a club who has to win each and every match. As for the fans and the media, it`s also different there compared to Serbia. I guess I forgot how it is here but I`ll get used to it in no time, it won`t be a problem for me”.
Filipovic had high regard for Belorussia but he is looking forward to challenges in black-and-white shirt.
“It`s been great for me in Belorussia, I feel at home there and that really matters when you are abroad. We won titles and cups, played European competitions and I want BATE to get back to title winning ways”.
New Partizan defender is on a new challenge himself now.
“I cannot wait to jump on a training wagon. I didn`t have any rest as Belorussian league is going on, so I`m fit. As for Partizan, they play nice football game; I liked how they battled for the club. That`s what we`re going to do now, all the way”, said Filipovic.
