After Savo Milosevic`s resignation yesterday, FK Partizan appointed Aleksandar Stanojevic as club`s new first team coach. Former Partizan player and coach signed a two-year deal.

Previously, Stanojevic coached Partizan between 2010 and 2012. He won two titles and one cup trophy in his first spell with the club, winning a double in 2011.

From Partizan, Stanojevic moved to China and coached Dalian Aerbin and Beijing Guoan, had a spell with Maccabi Haifa before returning to Far East to coach Beijing once more. He moved to PAOK in 2017 followed by spells at Saudis outfit Al-Qadsiah and most recently Beijing Renhe.

Former Partizan player Igor Duljaj is appointed Stanojevic`s assistant along with Branko Vukasinovic with whom Stanojevic worked while in China.

Aleksandar Stanojevic addressed journalists at the press-conference earlier today:

-Bacisally, this contract is just a formality. Partizan is above all of us, coaches change and results dictate your destiny.

I spoke to people from the club several times before but I was not ready to come back for a number of reasons although I was a free agent back then as well.  I moved to Far East but I felt desire to come back to Europe now and try and achieve something here. Besides, without being pathetic, there`s an emotion that brings us all back here, one that inspires. I left eight years ago tired of everything, just like Savo Milosevic just did, and I had no energy to come back. Now I have a desire to try and change things around, if I can.

I love pressure and great expectations, I enjoy in it, but I`m surprised how much people expect now. I know what`s on me to do. I`m not going to make promises but I know the battle will be enormous and that`s will inspire and motivate me even more. I have a great desire to turn things around as this is a really tough period for all Partizan fans.

We`ll work day and night. We want to get some new players at certain team positions, not foreign ones as we are full in that department. I want domestic players, Partizan kids to come back here, those who know what this is about. It`s easier to engage in those battles with them around. I`d like to change something, to see Lazar Markovic as a second striker but we also have Sadiq, Soumah, Stevanovic and Asano up-front. That kind of team dictates your style of play.

There`s lots of things we can change. Some games were different than others. We cannot allow different focus in different games. But, I`ll have a word with players myself.

My first desire is to stabilize ourselves than to battle for the title until the very end. We cannot strive on one or two consecutive wins, let`s try and change that. Let us be in contention for the title.
