Aleksandar Scekic: It`s about focus

Montenegro international Aleksandar Scekic arrive to Partizan last summer from Turkish side Genclebirligi and soon become one of the regulars at holding midfielder team position.

We spoke to Scekic ahead of Eternal derby game:

-Each derby is story of its own and one tiny little thing can prove crucial, says Scekic.

It`s important team to play well but sometimes there`s a matter of luck involved. I always want my team to win even if we don`t play good enough.

There`ll be a big midfield derby battle – you, Zdjelar, Kosovic against Marin, Jovicic, Jovancic…

-I`m sure it`s going to be a real battle and this midfield war might influence the shape of things a lot. I know everyone in the midfield will do their best for us to achieve as good result as possible. As people say – it will be a trench battle.

While playing in Turkey, you managed to score in big games against Galatasaray and Besiktas. Do you dream of scoring in a big Belgrade derby?

-Any player saying “no” would be dishonest. But, what matters the most is to prevent them from scoring to start with.

Little things can prove derby decider. How about set-pieces?

-Set-pieces are important part of every game and both sides have good set-piece takers and quality players in the air. Lot of will depend of how focused players are.
